What is Electric Touring?
Electric Touring is a community-focussed Newsletter for all those who tour, or are interested in touring with a Battery Electric Vehicle (EV), or possibly a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
What is the Aim of Electric Touring?
Our principle aim is to bring together all those people who tour with EVs, plus those who are curious about doing so themselves.
Electric Touring will mostly cover the everyday advantages and challenges of touring with an EV, plus exciting news developments as and when they happen.
So far, people who tour with EVs have no collective voice. Hopefully we can change that, make our voices heard, and inspire improvements in the things that need changing for the better - like charging the car with a trailer in tow.
Who is Electric Touring for?
If you tour (or are interesting in touring) with a Battery Electric Vehicle (EV) with a tent or a roof tent; tow a trailer tent, folding camper, or caravan; or you tour in an electric camper van or even an electric motorhome, then Electric Touring is for you.
It’s a place to share experiences and find out plain truths without prejudice, without agenda, and without interference from either the EV industry or the fossil fuel industry.
Who is behind Electric Touring?
At the moment, Electric Touring is run by a team of just one person - that’s me, Andrew Ditton. For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve been a lifelong caravanner and a leisure vehicle journalist for over 20 years. Recently I have established a successful YouTube Channel and work for a variety of diverse clients in the caravan and motorhome industry.
When did Electric Touring Start?
Electric Touring was created at the end of September 2022. If you’re checking in during the last quarter of 2022, then you may not yet find everything you are looking for as I continue to populate the newsletter.

Towing with an electric car has been great so far, had our Kia Ev6 since December 2021.We have done a few trips now and had no issues on charge only twice had to uncouple the caravan. Would highly recommend.
As we're planning on living in our caravan, we would be very much be interested in towing with an EV to fully reduce our carbon foot print. Need to wait for a few more pennies first though.
